Festa Italiana Wine Dinner

Featuring wines from four famous Italian regions:
Piemonte, Tuscany, Marche & Sicily

The name Borgogno has always been linked to one of the oldest, and most famous, wine producing houses in Langa and Piemonte. It all began in 1761 when Bartolomeo Borgogno established the cellar. Careful and patient work is required due to the difficult nature of harvesting the vines, a precious art that allows large grapes to be grown each year. Borgogno, following a code of absolute environmental friendliness, treats its grapes in the very best methods.

Situated on a Tuscan hilltop overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Grattamacco is in an ideal location to produce some of the finest wines in Italy. Second only to Sassicaia in historical chronology of the Bolgheri territory, the estate of Grattamacco planted its first roots in the Bolgheri in 1977 and produced its first wine in 1982.

Cantina Velenosi was established in Marche in 1984, with the purpose of reaching harmony between taste and colour. Combining artisan tradition and modern technology, Ercole and Angela Velenosi, with Paolo Garbini from 2005, have creatively re-interpreted the wine-making process and established a company which today spreads worldwide the scents and colours of the Piceno territory through its unique wines.

Terrazze dell’Etna sits on the Northwest slopes of Mt. Etna, in Sicily the vineyards sit 2000 to 3000 feet above sea level overlooking ancient terraces and old vines dropping 250 meters toward the sea. Nino Bevilacqua recognized the potential for the site and bought the property in 2007. To fully maximize the purest expression of Etna, Nino built an ultra-modern facility with the utmost respect for the areas traditions and recruited Riccardo Cotarella, one of the top consulting oenologists in Italy, to make his wine.

"Festa Italiana" is featured as part of the 2018 Forks & Corks Food & Wine Festival series of winemaker events. All of the wines will be paired with a carefully designed menu to showcase the fabulous wineries.
