Improving Safety by Changing Behavior

At times, the most dangerous aspect of our day is getting behind the wheel of a vehicle. Yet for many of us our years of experience has led to complacency and poor habits that endanger ourselves, our passengers, and those with whom we share we share the road. Day in and day out, we continue to hear and see the effects of poor choices that lead to terrible consequences despite our best efforts to train, educate, and manager safety and risk.

This session will focus on Behavior Based Safety and a formula that allows us to change behavior. We will share the insight of a large municipality’s effort to effect change, including a measurable claims reduction. Learn how a single rear-end collision led to a change in status quo for the leadership that brought about enough change to reduce year over year claims costs by 90%. A single solution changed behavior both in the driver’s seat and at the back of the truck. By the end of this presentation attendees will be able to identify the trigger point in their organization that will lead to the change reducing the risk profile of their workers and their fleet of vehicles.
