2018 Roundtable @ Sunshine Coast

Noosa, Queensland

Hosted by Sunshine Coast Airport

March 21-23, 2018

Ailevon Pacific Aviation Consulting is proud to present the 2nd Roundtable for Airport Marketing and Route Development in the Asia Pacific region. For 19 years, Airport Roundtables have been the most intimate and accessible Marketing and Route Development event for airports in North America. Participants interact with industry counterparts and airline representatives in an intimate setting that encourages conversation and engagement. In 2016 we offered the first Roundtable in Australasia.

2018 Confirmed Airline Guests Include:

About the Roundtable

There’s no peddling (we allow our sponsors – Tourism Noosa and Visit Sunshine Coast - a quick presentation, and that’s it). The rest of the time, it’s airlines talking about what they’re seeing in the industry, or what the other participants are seeing in their markets.

Really the principle behind it is to allow airports and tourism authorities a more intimate, informal interaction with airlines. Routes is like speed dating, while going to visit the airlines can often feel like it’s overly formal and intense. Our goal here is to get a small group of airlines, airports and tourism authorities together to understand more about what each of them are trying to achieve. And the airlines present to the airports/tourism authorities (not the other way around).

For the airlines, the benefit is that they can tell the group what sort of routes they’re interested in, what sort of support structures they like, what their fleet availability looks like, etc. So, by the time you see them at Routes or their HQ, you’re cooking with gas. The airlines tell us that it makes airports’ proposals more targeted to their strategic position.

From the perspective of airports and tourism authorities, the benefit is to hear from the airlines what they want and ensure that their route development activities are targeted to those opportunities. Secondly, being able to socialise with the airlines in a small environment is crucial - which is why we place so much emphasis on keeping it small and including great social networking opportunities. Airports and tourism authorities tell us that having these personal connections makes the longer-term relationships more rewarding. Finally, one of the key things we do is get participants to share positive or negative experiences or challenges with the group, to see alternatives and others’ ways of addressing the same issues - and hearing from the airlines is especially useful.

The first Australasia Roundtable in 2016 had great feedback - which is why we are doing it again. These Roundtables are designed to help clients, non-clients and airlines have much more fruitful air service development conversations. As an industry, we just don’t have enough opportunities to share knowledge, build relationships and make the air service development process more effective and enjoyable for all involved - which is what we are trying to change here.

We run these Roundtables because our clients love them, the airlines love them, and we think it helps when you get to hear airlines’ needs from the airlines directly. Most participants take something unique out of the event (perhaps a conversation over a drink with a network planner, or a contact from another airport who’s done what you’re about to do).  We limit participation to a maximum of 45 people, so there are plenty of opportunities for quality interactions – but it also means that places are extremely limited

The registration fee this year is just $990 + GST.  This includes conference space and all meals during the event. Book by 23 February 2018 and pay only $790 + GST!

Note: Registrations cancelled more than 30 days prior to the event will be fully refunded.  Within 30 days, registrations will be refunded at 50%.

We look forward to seeing you in Noosa!
