The Michigan Sheriffs' Association, The Department of Natural Resources and the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office are proud to announce the 2018 Marine Training Academy for new marine officers. The Academy will be held April 23-27, 2018 at the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.


The registration fee per attendee is $150.  This includes all materials, snacks, lunches and dinner on the first 3 nights for those who choose to partake in the extra class sessions. This does NOT include housing for the week.  Once registration is complete (click on the link below), payment for registration fees should be mailed to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Offce - 12220 Fillmore St. - West Olive, MI  49460.

 

Please note: our registration system requires that each attendee have their own, unique email address.  This does not have to be an agency email address, so it can be a personal email. Updates to the agenda and equipment list will be sent to these email addresses.

 

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Holiday Inn Express in Holland, 12381 Felch Street, Holland, MI 49424. Contact number to reserve rooms is (616) 738-2800. Rooms have been set aside from April 22nd through April 26, 2018 at a rate of $75.00 per room with up to four students sharing a room. If you need a room for the night of Friday, April 27th, please let the hotel know. The rate may be higher. This cost is tax exempt if you provide Holiday Inn with a copy of your department's tax exemption. Room reservations must be made by April 1, 2018 to assure a room and are to be made under the STATE MARINE ACADEMY group reservation. 

Breakfast is included with your room rate.

 

Reimbursement for all expenses shall be in accordance with the rules and regulations of the State of Michigan, Department of Natural Resources Marine Safety Program.
