Trail Horse Clinic/Workshops
PPE Clinician Joe Most & Tuff
Duration & Definition of our Trail Horse Workshops for this Clinic. Offering Online/Ground Skills & Riding Workshops which may take place out on the trail (weather permitting) where those who enjoy this activity are often faced with problems that can't be duplicated in an arena. Focusing on building confidence and staying safe.
Weekend Events:
Thursday 10:00 am-4:00 pm (2 hr lunch break)
Let's Take a Step Back Workshop- Advancing your ground skills from a distance. Long line and ground driving for fun. Work on advancingn your skills with desensitizing/sensitizing the total horse with focus on the hind quarters and issues that can arise on the trail. Riders will start off on the ground for the am session and move to riding their horse for the afternoon.
7:00 pm - PPE Barn Party Social
Friday 10:00 am-4:00 pm (2 hr lunch break)
What A Drag Workshop- Don't let the title of this workshop fool you. It is going to be fun! This workshop will definitely challenge your skills and encourage you to be creative in your training program. Advance your communication under saddle, understand how to turn your horse on and off, learn about the power of focus. Riders will start off on the ground for the am session and move to riding their horse for the afternooon.
7:00 pm- PPE Horse Tales by the Campfire.
Saturday 10:00 am-12:00 pm
Overcoming Obstacles Workshop- This workshop will challenge you to step it up with your Horsemanship. Develop a better understanding of the art of doing simple things very well. Focus will be on refining your skills and riding for success. This workshop will be under saddle.
2:00 pm Scavenger Hunt & Trail Ride- Challenge yourself for a hunt to find a variety of items found on the marked trail. Work on your own or as a team. Enjoy a beautiful trail ride and have a chance to win! For all ages of riders. Give your horse a job to do.
7:00 pm NEW! PPE Dinner & a Movie Night! Group Potluck dinner and a horse themed movie in the arena.
PARTICIPATION - Pre-Registration is required. Contact PPE to register. Please do not bring a horse that has never been outside an arena or show ring. Horses must have had at least some trail experience prior to the Clinic. Participants may arrive the day before their scheduled workshop or challenge.

Sunday-
Trail Horse Obstacle Challenge Competition 10:30 am-
6-8 Obstacles for riders to negotiate to show the skills of their trail horse.
Adult Divisions- 3 Levels in each division: Training, Intermediate & Masters
Youth Division (16yrs & under)
Level 1 -Training Level: This is considered a new partnership. The rider and horse may not have established trust or are unsure about each member's ability to negotiate simple obstacles. Obstacles should be easy to explain to the team: basic maneuver or technique needed to complete the obstacle.
Level 2-Intermediate Level: This is considered an established Partnership. The rider and Horse are familiar with one another, exhibit trust when negotiating obsacles are conditioned to ride a longer and or slightly more difficult course.
Level 3-Masters Level: This is considered a Partnership where Horse and rider have established trust, can negotiate difficult obstacles and are conditioned for a longer and or more challenging course.
