January 23rd Beginner Classes in Omaha Area

At last, we are starting a new beginner silversmithing class. After a long break due to the holiday season we can go back to a different kind of excitement: Creating!

Among all our activities, Beginner Silversmithing Classes have a special place.
It is the spark that sets everything afire and it is the path to a new kind of creativity. It proves to you that it is possible.
Silversmithing classes at Silver of Oz have been going on for 8 years now and over two thousand students achieved their goals of learning the techniques of silversmithing.

     

This years first class will accept only a limited number of new students due to the registrations from the waiting list. If you see the message       " Registration Closed" when you try to register, please contact Silver of Oz at 402 558 1307 or  contact us. in order to schedule a different class or to be placed on the list for the next class.

The class starts Tuesday, January 23rd and will be repeated for four weeks every Tuesday. There will be an extra week for make up classes if needed.

Hours are from 6:00PM to 8:00Pm

There are several lovely restaurants in the neigborhood. You have a lot of choices if you want to stay in town for dinner after your class....

A short description of our projects and techniques:   

Basic:

The first project helps you master the use of the jeweler’s saw, filing and polishing while creating a sterling silver pendant you saw out of sheet silver.
The second project takes you further in silversmithing as you learn how to design a ring.This requires you to learn how to measure your ring shank, design a bezel for the stone, set the stone in the bezel, and how to properly solder the ring shank and setting of the stone together. This will teach you important techniques in soldering and further your sawing and filing skills.
The fee for the classes did not change this year either. It is still $ 190 including all the materials.
