2-26-18 Supporting ARC teams in determining if a student QUALIFIES for Alternate Assessment.- No Fee for Member Districts, $35 Fee for Non Member Distrcts

Speaker: Sally Miracle

Target Audience:   ARC team members (administrators, special ed teachers working with students on alternate assessment, DoSE, general education teachers, guidance counselors).  Participants are encouraged to attend with a school/district team.

Description:

It is suggested that ARC members attend this session as a team.  This session is designed to provide guidance and support to Admissions and Release Committee (ARC) members in the application of the recently revised KY Alternate Assessment Participation Guidelines. Participants will engage in an in-depth look at each of the participation criterion and the relevant data and sources of evidence to support each decision.  Teams will have the opportunity to practice determining participation in Alternate Assessment by synthesizing the student case study data from various scenarios.

The KDE Alternate Assessment and Diploma Advisory Group highly recommends anyone who works with a student with a significant cognitive disability to complete the online training modules. The modules can be accessed at https://learn.hdi.uky.edu/

Participants must have completed the online training modules and quizzes prior to the session. Participants must bring Certificates documenting completion of each required module to the work session.
