BCM Career Development Seminar: IP Law
Join BCM alumna Hitisha Zaveri, Ph.D., IP Specialist at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati's patents and innovation practice in Austin, as she shares her experience moving from the bench to IP law. Through this candid conversation, Dr. Zaveri will address various aspects of this career transition including: how to navigate the job search process as an international student, navigating uncertainty, evaluating opportunities, finding the right fit, adapting to a steep learning curve and establishing mentorship for career success.
Dr. Zaveri will also give an overview of the major job roles and responsibilities available to Ph.D. trained scientists in IP law including patent agents and scientific advisors. Participants will receive first-hand insights about a typical day-to-day in each of these roles as well as the job qualifications and interview through evaluation and onboarding process. Current job opportunities at WSGR will also be discussed.
