STEM & Career Pathways Seminar 4.26.18 

Don't miss the SE MA STEM Network's STEM & Career Pathways Seminar at AccuRounds. Join STEM stakeholders including parents, educators (PK-12/college/university) and representatives of business, government, and community organizations to gather resources, connect with potential STEM partners, share ideas, and network.

Speakers & Exhibitors: Visit exhibitors and take away resources that support your efforts, including information about work-based learning for educators, engaging STEM programs and activities, and business & educator partnerships. Hear from JD Chesloff, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Business Roundtable and Michael Tamasi, President & CEO, AccuRounds, about efforts at the state and local level to ensure students and working adults are prepared to be successful in the 21st Century workplace. 

Panel Discussion: Panelists will focus on the importance of businesses partnering with early childhood and K-16 educators and efforts to provide training for working adults in order to ensure students and working adults are prepared to work in the 21st Century workplace. Learn how AccuRounds and other businesses partner with local school districts and institutions of higher education to advance STEM education. Collaborative efforts include participating in career fairs, community STEM/STEAM events, hosting Manufacturing Day and sponsoring robotics teams.

Tour AccuRounds: Learn how employees collaborate to meet customer requests for medical devices, aircraft components, firing pins, as well as parts for energy systems (wind and solar), robotics, and biotechnology. AccuRounds is an advanced manufacturer that machines and assembles precision turned components for the medical, defense, aerospace, semiconductor and emerging technologies markets.

Exhibitors Include: Avon Middle-High School & Envision the Future, Brockton Workforce Investment Board, CONNECT/SE MA STEM Network, MA STEM Pipeline, South Shore Workforce Development Board, and Silver Lake Regional School District.

Panelists include: JD Chesloff - Executive Director, Massachusetts Business Roundtable, Carmen Aguilar, Dean, Center for Workforce and Community Education, Bristol Community College, Scott Farrell, 7-12 Science Curriculum Coordinator, Silver Lake Regional School District, and representatives of Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School (1-3).
