The Power of Sleep: Enhancing Performance, Safety and Health
Sleep is a basic of life, a fundamental human need like food, water, and air. Yet in today’s fast-paced, connected, and demanding world it seems everyone jams more hours in the day by cheating on sleep. The consequences to individuals and our society can be devastating as sleep loss can impair performance, safety, and health. This presentation will introduce the basics of sleep: our need, the circadian (body) clock, changes with age, sleep disorders, and the effects of sleep loss. Strategies for better sleep, alertness, and performance will highlight the value that good sleep can bring to help everyone thrive.
