Let's Wake Up Camp Little Notch!

Spring Stewardship Weekend is an incredible opportunity for Little Notch supporters to gain an understanding of how to care for a dynamic camp facility and help make sure Little Notch is safe, functional, and in its best condition for our summer programs.

Our Stewardship Volunteer Team will be hosting the weekend and will have several major and minor projects that must be completed (all skill levels and physical abilities are welcome and needed). We welcome groups coming to do community service. Great for Scout troops and college groups!

Members who would love to help but are unable to visit due to distance or other commitments – we encourage you to please donate to help purchase tent, building and paint supplies.  It is a great way of helping out if you cannot have your boots on the ground. Click here to be taken to our donation page.

Projects may include: putting up tents, opening the kitchen, opening program areas, clearing roads, raking and clearing trails, setting up our herb garden, working with our compost system, and more. All participants will be asked to work for six (6) hours each day, leaving time to enjoy CLN in the afternoon and evening.

Bring your own pop-up tent if you want to tent out, because the platform tents may not be set up yet. Space in the Sleepy Hollow cabins, Brook Haven, Cook’s, and Rockwell Health Center is first come, first served. Email Tess with any special needs. There will be a sign-up for camping space when you arrive and sign in.

If you acquired a new paddle board or boat this year and want to donate your old kayaks, rowboats or canoes to CLN, this is the weekend to bring them so that we can have a team scrub them down for invasives.

In order to help keep Lakes Pond clean and free of invasive species, we DO NOT ever allow attendees to bring their own boats, kayaks, canoes, etc. We do have a variety of watercraft at CLN for your boating pleasure. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Registration is mandatory even if you are only coming for a day and bringing your own food.

Weekend fees are to cover the cost of food only:
Adults
2 Overnights with meals = $10
1 Overnight with meals = $5
Meals only - not staying overnight = $1/meal

Children (6-16)
2 Overnights with meals = $2
1 Overnight with meals = $1
Meals only - not staying overnight = $1/meal

Children 5 and under free (childcare is not provided)

It is FREE to attend and stay overnight if you bring your own food.

We have significantly lowered the price of attending this weekend so that it is not a burden on any of our members. If you wish to make an additional donation to offset some of the costs, please click here to be taken to our donation page.

Children are welcome! There will be a lot of raking/sweeping, picking up and wood gathering that kids can do. And campers who register for and participate in Steward Weekend with their families earn a $50 discount on summer camp fees! Childcare is not provided so the caretaker of the children must be responsible for their supervision and all applicable waivers must be filled out and signed.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome but you must bring a hard copy of an updated rabies vaccination certificate, and they must be leashed or tied at all times.

We encourage everyone to bring your own rakes, shovels, work gloves, and water bottles. We would love donations of paint! Interior paint can be any color, but exterior oil based stain must be in the redwood/brown/green/grey/white spectrum.

Special Volunteers needed!

  • Up to four people are needed for cooking plus kitchen and dining hall and main camp cleaning and unpacking. You MUST be available and in camp all three (3) days. This will be filled on a first come, first served basis. PLEASE EMAIL Tess@friendsofcln.org.
  • One or two persons with current lifeguard certification are needed to get the waterfront put together and ready for the summer season AND provide lifeguarding for possible swimming or boating this weekend. You MUST be available and in camp all 3 days. This will be filled on a first come basis. PLEASE EMAIL Tess@friendsofcln.org.

No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Please email Tess@friendsofcln.org to inquire about participating if you are unable to pay our meal fees.

We are hosting a more informal “Pot-Luck” Steward Weekend May 13-14 to set up the water system, check and repair the 4 miles of water pipe, get tools rounded up, do major repairs, get machines repaired and get the kitchen cleaned.  This is much harder, dirtier work more for experienced Stewards and requires more specialized skills, but we would love a team to come clean the kitchen!  Email Tess if you are interested in attending or if you have questions.

Payments are handled through PayPal. You are not required to have a PayPal account. You can pay with your credit or debit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover) — all without having a PayPal account. Complete the registration, then click on the button to pay and follow the "Pay with a credit card" link on the PayPal page (or login to pay via your PayPal account).

Please note: You can register multiple people on the same registration form by using the "Add Friends/Family" section (please use that section to register children 6-16 years old). However, you will only receive one email confirmation.

Registration fees are NON-REFUNDABLE after May 4, 2018. Please email admin@friendsofcln.org prior to that date if you need to cancel your registration.
