Day 1 - Saturday - Arrival and Exploration
Arrive to Shannon Airport and transfer to the riding centre to start your Ireland equestrian vacation. The transfer from Shannon to Whitegate is approx. two hours.
You will be staying at a lovingly restored 300-year-old farmhouse for the first four nights. On the arrival day feel free to relax and recover from your journey, or take a stroll on the well mapped nearby East Clare Walking Trail. There is also the possibility to take a guided boat tour to the historical Holy Island with its monastic settlement dating back to the 9th century. In the evening, meet the other riders for the week. Dinner is served in the tastefully restored 300-year-old farmhouse by candlelight and open turf fire.
Day 2 - Sunday
Introduction to your horse and start riding along the peaceful slopes of the wooded Slieve Aughty Mountains and across widespread bog lands.
Day 3 - Monday
Enjoying the fascinating views over the majestic Lough Derg. Ride by traditional turf cutting areas, listening to the myths of Neolithic dolmen, ancient burial tombs, and learn about the well-preserved ruins on Holy Island.
Day 4 - Tuesday
Heading for the top of the hills. we will overlook endless woods and miles of storytelling. There are rough old stonewalls sheltering the juicy green pastures. The sandy shores of the Lough Graney invite us to a canter along the beach and on goes the trail ride right across the gentle lapping lake.
Day 5 - Wednesday
Lovely wood tracks guide you to the bogy uplands where County Clare unfolds all around you up to rising hills of the Burren National Park and the first glimpse of Galway Bay. Overnight in Corofin.
Day 6 - Thursday
You will experience the very special and totally different moon like landscape of the Burren, with its rare and colourful flora and fauna and the stunning variety of pre-historic settlements. Overnight in Lisdoonvarna.
Day 7 - Friday
Riding further westwards until you reach the edge of the shredded coastline, you will be delighted by the breathtaking views of the endless Atlantic Sea, the famous Aran Islands, the rugged Connemara Mountains and the fascinating Cliffs of Moher. Overnight in Lisdoonvarna.
Day 8 - Saturday - Departure
After breakfast you will be transferred to Shannon for departure.
*I include in your fee an additional night in Shannon until Sunday. We stay at Bunratty Castle Hotel. This will give you an opportunity to Bunratty Castle and partake in a castle feast if you desire. There is also good shopping there. You have no other opportunity to shop on the ride. Bunratty Castle hotel is within walking distance of the castle and shops. Bunratty Castle also has a nice spa for those who would ike to get a good massage after riding horses over 120 miles!

More Information
- No beginner riders. Must be intermediate to advanced: walk, trot and canter long stretches. Riders will be riding 4-6 hours in a day and covering about 120 miles.
- All the horses are of the Irish breed to include: Connemara, Irish Cob, Irish Hunter and Gypsy Vanner. The Irish horses are known for their stamina and calm, easy going nature. Your host will assure you are matched with a mount that matches your riding ability and personality.
- Tack is English all around saddles with deep seats and good knee rolls. Only a few western saddles are available and must be requested in advance.
- Shannon airport is about 90 minutes from the Inn. Transfers are included in the cost.
- Rental cars not needed unless there will be non-riders who want to explore.
- Meals: 3 meals included each day. You'll start with dinner on arrival day and end with breakfast on departure day. Enjoy the hearty Irish breakfast and traditional farmhouse cooking beside the open turf fire in the farmhouse.
- Wine, beer and sodas are available at extra cost.
- Each room has a private bath.

It's not a boring ride at all. Experienced riders are necessary because you are in the saddle 6 hours per day. You must be able to walk, trot and canter easily.

Well trained Irish horses await riders to transport you across the whole country of Ireland all the way to the coast! You will be traveling through juicy green pastures, ride along a rock wall, ride through lovely woodland trails and boggy uplands, see beautiful flora and fauna and on till you reach the craggy cliffs overlooking the sea.

REFUND POLICY
At the time of booking, your reservation is held on a courtesy basis for one week, at
which time a $500 deposit is due. Final Payments are due 45 days prior to departure.
From 45 days prior to departure until 8 days prior to departure, 50% of the trip cost is
nonrefundable. Within 7 days of departure the entire trip cost is nonfundable. Travel insurance is recommended.
