Core Advocacy Skills

Presenter: Judith Kinzel

Cost: $30
Free for members

Advocates are often drawn to the anti-violence movement in order to help others and be a force for change in their communities—but being an advocate for victims of domestic violence is challenging work. Working with individuals in crisis can give rise to compassion fatigue and other barriers that can affect our interactions with clients. This workshop will explore the concepts of empowerment and trauma-informed services, while building skills in communication and problem solving.

Please note: Participants should have a basic knowledge of the dynamics of interpersonal violence.
