Program Description:
Financial planners in the 21st century must be change agents in their clients’ lives.  The roles that financial planners need to assume must expand beyond that of advisor and technical expert, to that of facilitator, advocate, listener and collaborator.  This 4-part session is designed to offer context, new ideas, practical application and opportunity for reflection.

The session is based on an innovative new graduate course that Elizabeth designed and teaches, Introduction to Financial Life Planning.  We will survey the landscape of theories, tools and processes that have been developing over the past 20 years while looking ahead to the demands of the future.

This half day will combine presentation with practice.  We will integrate financial life planning into the entire 6-step process and have the opportunity to do exercises that can improve our impact and effectiveness in our work with clients.  During and after lunch, students from the Golden Gate University course will be invited to share their experiences and learning.  Saundra Davis will share her expertise in applying coaching skills to the delivery of financial planning.  We will end the day by bringing it all together so that you leave with clear take-aways, learnings and a plan of action.
