Traumatic Grief in Play Therapy - Beginner 

Description:

All children experience grief. Many of the losses of children experience go unrecognized even by people who care and love them. Traumatic grief, the complicated grief that is also connected to trauma, is a more serious mental health issue in children. In this workshop participants will get foundational knowledge, practical skills and have authentic learning experiences that translate into helping children with traumatic grief heal using play therapy.

This workshop is designed for:

Social workers (LCSW, LMSW, LISW, BSW, AAW), psychologists (Ph.D., Psy.D., Ed.D.) school counselors, school psychologist, professional counselors (LMHC, LCMHC, CMHC, LPC, LCPC), marriage and family therapists (LMFT, LIMFT) art therapists, play therapists, occupational therapists, graduate students, and others in the mental health-related field.  This is a beginner level seminar which means that no previous experience is needed in order to participate.

Presenter:  Jodi Mullen, PhD., LMHC, RPT-S

Professor and Supervisor of Child Psychotherapy and Play therapy.  Director of Integrative Counseling Services, PLLC, in central New York, where she conducts psychotherapy and supervises staff. Associate Professor at State University of NY at Oswego, where she teaches and develops comprehensive syllabi and coordinates the play therapy certificate and mental health counseling programs.

Cancellation Policy:

     Written cancellation must be received in our office at least ten working days prior to the training. A $25.00 processing fee will be deducted from your refund. Otherwise, a voucher will be given. If you do not notify us a minimum of ten business days prior to the training of your intent to cancel, you will not receive a refund or credit.  Chesapeake Beach Professional Seminars reserves the right to cancel a training or workshop due to inclement weather or not enough attendance.  In this event, CBPS will provide you with a full refund.  In the event of inclement weather please check your email for CBPS notifications/instructions and/or voicemail phone system.

Change of Instructors:

     CBPS also reserves the right to change instructors if needed to ensure an effective training.  In the event that this takes place you will be notified with the change as soon as possible.

Chesapeake Beach Professional Seminars provider #1602 is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) Program.  Chesapeake Beach Professional Seminars maintains responsibility for the program.  ASWB Approval Period: 5/14/2018 to 5/14/2019.  Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval.  Social workers participating in this course will receive 6 continuing education clock hours.

CE Certificates:

     After completion of the workshop, participants who have provided payment, indicated attendance via signature & initials on the sign-in sheet that is provided at the workshop, and have completed an evaluation of the course will be given a CE certificate via hard-copy which will be presented at the close of the workshop upon completion of the course evaluation.  A sign-in/sign-out sheet will be provided at the workshop.  In order to receive credit, all participants must indicate attendance by both signing in and out.
