This course provides Hawai'i law and rules as it relates to nursing continuing competency in the State of Hawai'i.

OBJECTIVES:

1)  Understand the physiology of left and right brain attributes.

2)  Identify two characteristics of left and right brain.

3)  Apply the knowledge in the work place to improve work relationships.

This activity has been submitted to Montana Nurses Association for approval to award contact hours.  Montana Nurses Association is accrediated with distinction as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Dr. Pamela (Meli) Almeida, PhD, APRN, NNP-BC, CPNP-PC

Dr. Almeida is the current President of Caring for Hawai'i Neonates. She has 30 years as a Neonatal Nurse and 25 years as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.  She completed her BSN fron University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth; her MS-NNP from Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts; her PhD in Biomedical Research from University of Hawai'i - John A. Burns School of Medicine.  Her area of research is thermoregulation.  She currently works at Kulana Malama as a PNP for Complex Pediatric patientws.  She is also employed at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women and Children and Kaiser Foundation Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units as an NNP.  She also provides pediatric coverage for Reis Pediatrics at Castle Medical Center.
