How to Really Start Your Business

In this workshop, the objective is to walk entrepreneurs and/or aspiring entrepreneurs through the action steps and planning that must be done prior to ever opening doors for business.  What a start-up business owner must do to get organized and ready to start a small business. I will cover all the things new business owners should be doing.  It is also a good review of practices for existing business owners, and serves as a reminder about the importance of implementing those practices.  It serves as a preparatory checklist for those considering small business ownership

Presenter: Phyllis Shelton is an Economic Development Specialist for the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Illinois District Office, where she works in the Marketing and Outreach Division.  She has devoted 33 years of service to the SBA and has held several positions.  She has a commitment to making sure that the U.S. Small Business Administration is accessible to the Small Business Community.
