"Lydia, Seller of Purple: Successful, Independent, Called..."

WHAT:

Considering the way God's call spirals through our lives at different times in different ways, we will engage with the story of Lydia in Acts 16:11-40-- and in the Book of Philippians, which was written to the church at Philippi. Expect to share, journal, play and pray your way through the weekend.

For this retreat, Montview is once again privileged to partner with Lumunos, a non-profit whose mission is to help people live fuller, more authentic lives as they align their life choices and relationships with their sacred values.  Lumunos has long offered retreats that help people connect deeply with others and their own authentic selves.

WHY:

  • Sometimes it’s hard to hear God’s voice amid the noise and chaos of everyday life.  This is a chance to remove ourselves from everyday distractions, chores and demands from others.  As women (and perhaps especially moms with younger children), we often have a hard time doing this, but it’s important to our spiritual growth and our ability to be present to our families—not to mention our sanity!
  • A supportive intergenerational community can be an invaluable asset when we return to the chaos.  This experience will provide you with an opportunity to deepen your relationships with other women of Montview. It’s a chance to be your authentic self, and you may just find someone who has faced challenges similar to yours.
  • It’s a chance to reflect, relate, and reenergize!
