2018 Alternative Dispute Resolution Program

Session 1

Bullard Law invites you and your colleagues to attend this event on Thursday, March 15, 2018.

Arbitration Agreements as a Valuable Risk Management Tool for Employers

An arbitration agreement can serve as an excellent risk management tool, but only if it is well drafted.   This program is designed for business owners, employers, and lawyers who want to better understand how an arbitration agreement can be used for risk management purposes and how to draft an enforceable agreement to be sure that it will provide a cost effective and timely alternative to litigation.  A poorly drafted arbitration agreement may defeat the very purpose of arbitration if the parties end up litigating the terms of the agreement  or its enforceability before the arbitration ever occurs, resulting in expensive, time consuming litigation surrounding the terms of the agreement itself, the scope of the arbitrator’s authority, or the enforceability of the agreement.  Join us to learn what terms are essential, what risks to avoid, and what clauses to consider for your particular business needs.

Bryan J. Branon, American Arbitration Association
