KEA Local Presidents + Next Generation Leaders Training 2018

Like any member organization, the health and vitality of KEA depend on the engagement of its members and on the strength and vision of its leaders. That is especially true at the local level, where good leaders know that the most important thing they will ever do is to identify and prepare their replacements.
That’s why we are offering the 2018 Local Presidents + Next Generation Leaders training event July 15-16-17 at the Four Points Sheraton at 1938 Stanton Way in Lexington.
2018 Local Presidents + Next Generation Leaders combines the best of our highly successful Local Presidents Training and Emerging Leaders Training. Everything about this conference is designed to help you build and maintain the strongest possible local association for your members—one that will thrive and succeed long after you retire.
KEA President Stephanie Winkler and Vice President Eddie Campbell urge ALL local presidents to attend this training, and to bring with you another local member who has the interest, vision and energy necessary to be the “next one up” in your local’s leadership.
Training will be conducted by KEA’s veteran professional staff. There will be sessions both for the entire group and for the individual “presidents” and “next generation leaders” groups.
Session topics will include but not be limited to:
- Organizing to Win
- Organizing for Power
- Member Communication
- Basic Association Financials
- KEPAC, Educators’ Voices in Politics
- Understanding Poverty – a Simulation
A Sunday evening reception will be held for all participants who wish to mix and mingle with other attending leaders. It will be a good time to meet and greet your trainers, staff, and friends within the association.
KEA will provide two nights’ lodging (on the 15th and 16th) for all participants, as well as breakfast and lunch on the 16th and 17th. (KEA will not pay mileage to participants, but is encouraging locals and districts to do so.)
