Cybersecurity Risk Management for Real Estate Professionals

Real estate lawyers, title agents, and Realtors: Learn how to protect yourself and your clients from ever-increasing cyber threats that target real estate professionals and attempt to steal real estate closing funds.

Fraud is in the news nearly every day: Proceeds of a real estate sale stolen through wire fraud, personal information compromised, identities stolen. From individuals to multi-million dollar corporations, anyone can fall victim to cyber attacks. Understand the threat landscape, recognize the growing number of sophisticated scams, and learn ways to prevent attack and protect from loss.

At this CLE on Tap program, ATG’s Chief Information Officer, Chris Burhans, shares his expertise on how to protect yourself and your clients. His presentation will cover:

  • Cybersecurity threats to real estate professionals, including scams and attacks used to gain access to your data;
  • Internal and external security challenges facing small businesses;
  • Why and how to encrypt your email and install spam filters and firewalls that work;
  • Other protective practices and mitigation techniques that prevent and detect attacks; and
  • Future of cybersecurity.
