Ropes - Backbends with William Prottengeier 

Because so much of the day is spent hunched over a desk, iPhone or computer, the regular practice of backbends is an antidote to our everyday postural habits. Backbends are invigorating, challenging poses that build confidence. In this workshop you will learn how to safely develop a backbend practice from the mostbasic to the more advanced poses.The backward bending asanas energize, refresh and invigorate the body by opening the chest. Backbends are dynamic postures, which move to counter gravity and therefore require and build energy and strength, especially in the wrists, arms, legs, buttocks and spine. Backbends also stretch the front of the abdomen, hips, thighs, shoulders and chest.You will explore how to warm up and how to cool down from backbends in order to balance the body and mind.
