2018 FEI Capital Markets/M&A Update

Join FEI Twin Cities for the Capital Markets/M&A Update! Learn from a variety of experts about fascinating topics during (2) 105 minute sessions. The speakers will give some high-level updates on the current and future outlook for the capital markets; the current M&A deal environment and predictions for the M&A deal environment in 2016. All FEI members are encouraged to attend.

Michelle Carter - National Director, Claims & Advocacy  - Hays Companies  

Michelle Carter is Vice President and National Director of the Claims and Advocacy practice group. Michelle leads the team serving as consultants to the brokerage and marketing teams identifying exposures and tracking liability trends. She and her team also advise clients and advocate on their behalf in the claims and insurance proceeds recovery process. In addition to her brokerage experience, Michelle practiced law litigating insurance coverage disputes in state and federal courts foover a decade.

 Rob Biodriowski is a director in the Regional Investment Banking group at Wells Fargo Securities. As co-head of the North Region, Rob is responsible for the origination and execution of investment banking services for companies and financial sponsors based in a 10-state region of the upper Midwest including Minnesota. 


 PJ Patel - Co-CEO - VRC

Mr. Patel is Co-CEO and leads VRC’s financial reporting practice. Mr. Patel is a frequent presenter on valuation issues, including valuation issues relating to ASC 805, ASC 350/360 and ASC 820. In addition, Mr. Patel has been on the Fair Value panel at the AICPA SEC Conference. He is often quoted in the press regarding valuation issues.

 

Andrew  Sinclair - Managing Director, Global Corporate Investment Bank, Mid-Cap Regional Coverage - Bank of America Merrill Lynch

Andrew Sinclair, based in Chicago, leads Midwest Regional Investment Banking coverage for Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Andrew provides a broad range of corporate finance and M&A advisory services for Mid-Cap companies across industry sectors.

 

Andrew is responsible for client development, management and transaction execution leadership, and works in partnership with companies pursuing significant strategic expansions via acquisition (idea generation, transaction analysis, structuring and deal execution), conducting regular and transformational financings or implementing changes in corporate form (e.g. public offerings, merger, sale).

 

Prior to joining BofAML in April 2016, Andrew spent fifteen years with UBS as part of the Global Industrials and Midwest Coverage efforts based in Chicago (2004-2015) and with the Utilities sector team in New York (1999-2004).

 

In the Chicago civic community, Andrew is on boards at the John G. Shedd Aquarium and the Big Shoulders Fund and is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago and the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.

 

Andrew graduated with distinction with a BBA from the University of Michigan.

 

 Christpher Bellini - Cozen O'Connor

Christopher is chair of Cozen O'Connor's Private Equity Practice Group. Chris focuses his practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions involving publicly and privately held companies and private equity acquisition and divestiture transactions. He is also experienced in SEC-registered public offerings, debt financing, and private placement transactions. He has extensive experience in the areas of corporate and securities law, as well as in corporate governance and compliance matters. Chris earned his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School and his LL.M. from the New York University School of Law, where he was the graduate editor of the New York University Journal of International Law and Politics. Chris received his bachelor's degree, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota.


Andrea Mouw - Eide Bailly

 

As Eide Bailly's Nation Tax Pricinical, Andrea is leading the firm’s accounting methods and periods practice. With more than eleven years of tax experience, Andrea’s key areas of expertise include accounting method issues such as income and expense recognition, capitalization, section 199, and inventory issues, as well as the taxation of financial products and alternative investments. Andrea is experienced in identifying and outlining the U.S. tax consequences of proposed investment opportunities and developing structuring alternatives to minimize the U.S. tax impact of the investments for varying types of investors. Andrea received her bachelor's degree with High Distinction from the Curtis L Carlson School of Management and her Juris Doctorate from William Mitchell College of Law.
