ISP Training ~ How to be an Effective Member of an ISP Meeting

OPRA is offering a four-part training course designed to provide agencies the understanding and tools necessary to be an active and productive participant in the ISP process.

Do you feel your agency is an active participant in ISP Meetings?

Are your agency representatives in ISP meetings fully confident of their roles and responsibility?

Do you truly understand the role and responsibility of the County Board SSA?

Do you truly understand the waiver funding process?

Are you frustrated because you feel approval of appropriate services/funding is out of control and your input does not matter?

This is a 4 part training course that is imperative that the attendee comes prepared to participate by reading materials prior to each session.  They must come to all 4 courses.  The attendee will only get out of it what they are willing to put into it.

Part 1 -Tuesday, April 17 ~ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Overview and understanding of the ISP Process; Identifying the statutes and administrative rule that govern the ISP process; in depth review of the SSA rule; Understanding your role and the role of the SSA in the ISP.

Part 2 - Tuesday, April 24 ~ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Overview of how waivers are funded; Understanding the CPT; In depth review of On-site On-call and the administrative rule language that governs its applicaton; Rule and process reivew of the behavior and medical and-ons. How and why these determinations are critical to the success in your organizations mission/goals and impacts on your abilitiy to recruit, train and tretain quality DSP's.

Part 3 - Thursday, May 3 ~ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Role Play; Understanding what to expect in an actual ISP meeting and how to resond.

Part 4 - Wednesday, May 9 ~ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Putting the pieces together; How to be an effective advocate for your agency and the individuals you serve.
