A Day at the Pullman National Monument
Spend your day with GSC and IGS on the grounds of this newly established National Monument on Saturday, May 19 beginning at 9 a.m.
In 1881, George M. Pullman built the Nation's first planned industrial community with housing, parks, civic spaces, commercial buildings, and an industrial complex all designed to provide a pleasant working and living environment for his workers. The industry here involved the construction of railroad cars including the famous Pullman Palace Car Company luxury passenger coaches. In 1894, the location was the site of an infamous labor strike. In 2015, Pullman was designated a U.S. National Monument overseen by the National Park Service of the U.S. Department of the Interior.
Itinerary:
9:00 – 9:15 a.m. A welcome to the Monument by National Park and Pullman Foundation staff.

A 26-minute film is included with admission.
Participants are responsible for all meals and transportation costs. Admission is included, except where noted. The price of this tour is $30 per person.
