Meet a Tuskegee Airman
You are probably aware of the Tuskegee airmen, who managed to break the barrier against black pilots in WWII...so meet and hear Eugene Richardson, one of those airmen.
Eugene finished his training as a fighter pilot just as the war was ending, but came back to Philadelphia to earn his college degrees and became an educator. Now retired, he tours the US speaking about and teaching the story of the Tuskegee airmen.
He's a member of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, which meets monthly and each year provides a scholarship to a Delaware State University aviation major.
