This is a one day intense and interactive training covering best practices in conducting sexual harassment investigations and preparing an investigation report. Participants will be actively involved in learning how to write an investigation report based on the facts of an actual case in litigation. Guidelines will be provided regarding how to determine when a harassment investigation is necessary, how to prepare for an investigation, how to determine when an outside investigator may be required, as well as how to interview witnesses, gather evidence, and evaluate facts to determine if the claims are substantiated or unsubstantiated. Participants will be actively involved in analyzing facts from several cases that have gone through the litigation process and writing reports using the techniques learned in the training, allowing them to compare their findings with the court’s decisions. Using actual cases as teaching opportunities, participants will learn tools and techniques for improving their skills as an investigator, as well as best practices for identifying appropriate remedial actions when claims are substantiated.
