Forum Meeting on
City of Columbus
Disparity Study
Dear Friends,
City of Columbus has undertaken a disparity study for designation of Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) for procurement purposes. There is a concern that MBE rules related to MBE designations may get formulated such that Asian and Asian Indian owned enterprises may not be considered under MBE. Result of this disparity study will be released at the end of March. Such changes will adversely impact opportunities for Asians and Asian Indians in future.
To help facilitate dialog with City of Columbus and answer questions, please note that a special forum meeting has been planned for March 15 at 6 pm at Maanas Restaurant to meet Mr. Steve Francis, Chief Diversity Officer for City of Columbus where Asian and Asian Indian community members can convey their need for diversity related opportunities and get answers to their questions.
We will have a cash bar and a buffet for this event. Please note this is not a sponsored event and guests will be responsible to pay $20 for dinner at this event (except paid AIABG members). This decision may or may not affect you directly, however, can have an impact on our future generations and future businesses in the City.
It is very important that our community attend in large numbers. This is strictly a private meeting and only registered attendees will be allowed to attend. Payment to be made at the venue.
