7th Annual Native Youth Summit

  "Change Grows Through Us"

The 7th Annual Native Youth Summit is open to 40 youth and is a four-day powerful leadership development experience that connects, challenges, and cultivates a cohort of Native youth ranging in age from 13 to 17 years old from across the state of New Mexico. Our theme for the summit is "Change Grows Through Us" and it will focus on self-awareness, land, and self-care on a youth level to strengthen our tribal communities.

This application MUST BE completed by the youth interested in applying for the Native Youth Summit and NOT by a parent or guardian on behalf of the applicant.

Selections for the summit will be based on answers provided in the essay questions and based on involvement in one's community.

Each application will be internally reviewed starting May 1st, 2018 and 40 youth will be selected by May 4th, 2018.  Beginning May 4th, CSVANW will begin notifying applicants about their application status by phone. The selected Native Youth Summit attendee's will receive three nights of paid lodging and all meals during the four-day event. Event supplies, t-shirt, a travel stipend and backpack will be provided.

PLEASE NOTE - Submitting an application to CSVANW to review does not confirm that the applicant is accepted. We will begin to notify participants of their application status beginning May 4th, 2018 by phone.

The Native Youth Summit is partially funded by the following grants and contracts: Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women 2016-1W-AX-0017; Native Americans in Philanthropy #GenIndigenous Response Fund; New Mexico Indian Affairs Department contract 17-609-3000-PSC13; Verizon Wireless HopeLine; and the New Mexico Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs.
