"Practicing Forgiveness in Recovery"
~ How forgiveness is a tool in the healing process~
Cindy Chau is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, who focuses on helping clients navigate their personal development journey through a strength based, cognitive-behavioral, narrative approach. Cindy has served in the mental health field since 2012, in which time she became a licensed mental health practitioner, developed a Boeing funded Juvenile Anger Management Program in Long Beach, became a motivational speaker, started her private practice business and founded Wellness Vybz, a mental health first aid tent for large event gatherings such as music festivals. Cindy has diverse experience working with dual diagnosed adults, foster children and families, and homeless Veterans. Her exposure to these various populations, strengthened her clinical experience related to trauma, addiction, self-esteem, mood disorders and stress management. Cindy engages strengths that participants already possess in order to assist in their goals. She incorporates mindfulness based techniques, and explore internal dialogue that might perpetuate maladaptive behaviors. Cindy is passionate about not only offering guidance through interventions to reach treatment goals, but rather exploring the “behind the scenes” inner narratives of participants to create longer lasting, sustaining change. Cindy’s overall mission in her clinical work is to inspire others to be brave during their journey towards personal development, not only by role modeling, but by offering containment and support.
