Sara Goldstein, M.S.Ed., CCC-SLP, TSSLD received her Master's degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences from The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. Sara is currently a speech-language pathologist who works with children ranging in age from three to twelve years old who are diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder and other related disorders.
Augmentative and Alternative communication (AAC) devices have been proven to be beneficial to the communication of both verbal and nonverbal children diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder and related disabilities. This presentation will consist of evidence to support the impact of AAC on verbal output, in addition to a hands-on activity based on real-life case studies.
