2018 CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
Deadline for submissions: July 1

AIA KS provides continuing education programs for CEU's throughout the year to more than 700 architects in Kansas and throughout the region. As a speaker, there are multiple opportunities for you to participate and gain visibility and increase your leadership role in the industry by providing valuable information to attendees.

We are seeking innovative speakers and facilitators for presentations for the following:

    1.  2018 EVOLVE Conference in Overland Park, KS, Oct. 3-4.

    2.  EXPLORE events throughout 2018

Our goal is to bring together the brightest minds and most engaging speakers to offer talks on a wide range of subjects and provoke important conversations while appealing to the needs of all AIA Kansas members and allied members.

Presentation Guidelines:

  • Presentation length: 60 minutes.
  • Word Count: The proposal abstract (250 words or less) should be given in paragraph form.
  • CEU's: Presentations must qualify for one AIA Continuing Education Learning Unit (LU), to be administered by AIA Kansas.
  • HSW Credits: Presentations intended to qualify for and deliver HSW Learning Units must show alignment with CES HSW requirements and prospective presenters should be familiar with the criteria for HSW presentations. Please review information regarding HSW criteria in the HSW Guidelines (link to PDF).
  • Learning Objectives:  Submitted proposals must identify four learning objectives and follow the requirements outlined by the AIA Continuing Education Guidelines (link to PDF).
  • Learning Component:   If you are including an active learning component one as part of your presentation, please describe and give the timeframe for the activity.
  • Presentation Formats: Sessions are educational presentations, including panel discussions and lectures, and upon acceptance, the review committee will determine where the presentation fits into the programming for 2018. All speakers that are selected to present at the EVOLVE Conference receive a discounted registration fee and are required to register.

The Committee reserves the right to assign any format to any of the proposals submitted.

Review Process

Presentation submissions will be subject to a blind, peer-review process.  Authors of accepted proposals will be contacted by the conference committee by July 15.

Submitted presentations will be considered for use as EXPLORE education events or EVOLVE Education Conference.
