Speaker Topic: Risk Management in a World of Interoperable Technologies

As more of our technologies connect and communicate with each other, managing risk requires accountability at the technology, operations, and business levels. The healthcare industry represents nearly a fifth of US GDP and leverages both traditional medical devices and increasingly consumer and enterprise technologies that all need to work together. Managing user and patient risk across corporate boundaries is still an unresolved challenge and remains one if the barriers to adoption of technologies that have long been common in other industries. This talk will cover recent thinking and the outlook on potential solutions.

Registration Scheme has changed:

we are pleased to offer a discounted registration fee to registrants and guests if they 1) are members and 2) if they register at least one week before the event. It is $5 for full, senior, or fellow members and $15 for associate or student members. They will receive their (PayPal) rebate as soon as membership classification is verified - it will amount to dinner free.

For all other situations (register till March 19, non member) the usual registration fees apply. Registration is a three part process:1) having a meal? and 2) select meal if you are having one 3) pay for the meal via PayPal. Douglas has many years of experience as a consultant, manager, and engineer in the computer and software industries . In addition to teaching, he provides organizational assessments, strategic quality planning, and test planning services. His recent technical work has focused on equivalence class analysis, test oracles, and advanced test automation architectures. He is a regular speaker at conferences worldwide, holds credentials for teaching Computer Science at the college level, and has taught management, technical, and quality assurance related university classes for several Universities on both coasts. He has been very active in the Section's activities; teaching classes, leading the Software TAG (SSQA), and he holds the distinction of being ASQ's SV Section Chair twice. He is also a founder, Lead instructor, and Past President of the Association for Software Testing (AST), an international professional society.
