Genealogy Interest Group Meeting (3/27/18)

The first meeting of the 2018 Genealogy Interest Group will take place online on Tuesday, March 27th, from 10:00 - 11:00 am

We are excited to have Jack Butler present "Died Suddenly on Friday Last, of a Gunshot" - Finding Kin in Early Newspapers.

Jack Butler is an experienced professional genealogist, lecturer and author who has been helping folks track their ancestors for more than ten years. As a 6th generation Floridian, with strong ties to neighboring states, he has researched extensively throughout the South. But as his client's ancestors frequently came south from points north, Jack has also conducted significant work in New England, Canada and the United Kingdom.

He currently serves as Past President of the Florida State Genealogical Society and President of the Florida Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists.

Your Facilitator Is:  Kim Dolce, Volusia County Public Library System

Kim Dolce has been interested in genealogy for many years, having caught the “genealogy bug” from her mother.  Kim joined the staff of the Volusia County Library System (VCPL) in 1980, and has been the genealogy/local history librarian at the Daytona Beach Regional Library since 2011. She is always surprised at the variety of questions she receives, and enjoys the challenge of finding answers for the patrons who are searching for information.

Cost: NEFLIN Interest Groups are free of charge and are open to NEFLIN members only.  Registration is strongly encouraged.

A reminder and access information will be sent out one week before the meeting and one day before the meeting.  Please email register@neflin.org if you do not receive your access information.
