Target Audience
This course is designed for physicians, nurses, and health care professionals who work with patients with or at risk of tuberculosis.
Conference Goal
The goal of this course is to highlight and discuss the social impact treatment for TB infection or TB disease may have on the individual patient.
Conference Objectives
Using immersive learning, participants will be able to highlight various aspects of patient care from evaluating groups at highest risk of progression from infection to disease, to outpatient care, to treatment in a specialty hospital. Participants will also be able to identify patient support groups, patient motivators for starting and completing treatment for TB infection, factors associated with successful treatment outcomes, and issues that may impact a patients ability to undergo or complete treatment.
Format
The format for this course will be lecturestyle presentations, with case studies, and panel discussion preceded by a gallery walk. There will be ample time for questions and answers.
