2018 Professional Development and Annual General Meeting 

Join your colleagues at our 2018 Professional Development and Annual General Meeting on April 11, 2018 (Wednesday) to be held at the William Glesby Centre, Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Registration will open at 8:45 a.m. 

Speaker presentation theme, "Professional Practice--Preparing for the Future!

Speakers are:

Ian G. Craven, P.Ag., CPA, CMA, MBA, CMC, a Partner in Meyers Norris Penny office in Winnipeg

Ian will help prepare professionals for the future by sharing perspectives on professional practice. As a large national firm with service providers in regulated occupations (primarily accounting and agrology), the firm is well-positioned to share information about best practices for professionals in client relationship management.

 

Dr. Brian Amiro, P.Ag., Professor, Faculty of Agriculture and Food Science, University of Manitoba

Brian will focus on what future professionals need to know in a changing environment (business, technology, climate). The faculty is in the midst of a significant curriculum review and is seeking feedback from the profession about the university component of competency development. There will be an audience feedback component.

Wade Barnes, President and CEO, Farmers Edge

Wade will  share information and thoughts on what the future will look like in agronomy from a technology perspective, including opportunities and risks.

Prairie Fitness and Rehabilitation

To give your best effort to your employer and customers requires attention to mental and physical readiness. Prairie Fitness will provide health research, information, and tips that will help you as agrology professionals bring your best to work every day.

The first presentation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Members' lunch will be at 12:30 p.m. and the AGM will follow at 1:30 p.m. The time plan is for the AGM to wrap up by about 2:30 pm.

Professional Development activity and members' lunch has a modest cost ($60); there is no cost to attend the AGM.
