According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as of 2015 suicide was the second leading cause of death among people 15 to 34. Suicide is a major public health issue in our country. This training will review current research on the topic and how it is applied to programs in our community.


  • Participants will understand the application of data, research and theory to inform best practices in suicide prevention.  
  • Participants will explore current prevention program models and health promotion and wellness initiatives to prevent suicide. 
  • Participants will review evidence-based practices in the prevention of suicide.


This training is approved for three CEUs through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board and the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage Family Therapist Board. This training meets the requirements for the Domain VI: Professional Growth & Responsibility for OCPSA/OCPS/OCPC. 

Sponsored by Recovery Resources, a designated provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc.
