Join the CIFST Ontario Section for our SPRING Technical Session at the Maple Leaf ThinkFood Centre! Expert speakers  Joel Gregiore, Associate Director for Mintel's Canada Food & Drink Reporting and Dr. Alfred Aziz (Chief, Nutrition Regulations and Standards at Health Canada) will address some of the biggest trends impacting the industry today (Product, Market, Consumer, Regulatory).

You will also have the opportunity to learn what capabilities, ingredients and applications participating industry suppliers have available that meet the ever-changing demands of Consumers!  Take advantage of the mini-tabletop and capitalize on the opportunity to speak to presenters and suppliers about your specific formulation requirements.

Expert Speaker Topics:

Joel Gregoire (Mintel)

Gaining an edge in the food and beverage industry starts with a simple question: "What do Consumers Want?"  Joel will present how Mintel's consumer input data and observations from their trend spotters and global product launch insights helps answer this question.  Joel will also provide perspective on how companies are utilizing Mintel's insights to respond to overall consumer demand resulting in the development of innovative products that are successfully commercialized.

Dr. Alfred Aziz (Health Canada)

Dr. Aziz will provide an overview of the public health landscape of Canada in relation to diet-related chronic disease, the challenges Canadians face in making healthy food choices and the role that the food environment plays.  In addition, Dr. Aziz will speak on how the Healthy Eating Strategy aims to address and improve the food environment using federal levers, and how it could present opportunities to drive innovation in the food industry where it is needed most.

This full-day event provides opportunities to learn, gain product insights and network!
