Target Audience: School Guidance Counselors

Description: In this workshop, you’ll learn the ins and outs of the ASCA National Model and the framework of a comprehensive school counseling program: foundation, management, delivery and accountability. Discover how to align your school counseling program with the mission of the school and district and create answers for the question: "How are students different as a result of the school counseling program?

 
Learning objectives:
Upon completion of this hands-on workshop, participants should be able to:

·        Describe in detail the components of the ASCA National Model

·        Develop or improve the foundation, delivery, management and accountability systems for the school counseling program

·        Align activities and interventions with school improvement goals

·        Explain how to collect and use school data to identify student needs, develop school counseling program goals to address those needs and, using outcome data, show the accountability and impact of the school counseling program on achievement, attendance and behavior

·        Address developmental needs for all students through a school counseling core curriculum action plan

·        Address specific achievement, attendance and behavior needs through closing-the-gap and small-group action plans

·        Take a leadership role to focus on individual student needs and systemic change addressing what all students need to know and be able to do to ensure success

·        Explain how to create and reach agreements with administrators, create an action plan that includes all staff and utilize results reports

·        Identify methods for teaming and collaborating to create or improve the school counseling program structure

·        Discuss the Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP)

Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session. 

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.

Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
