The Basics of Hostile Intruder Response

Any violence targeting children at school is cause for great concern. Recent incidents have once again stunned our nation and brought forth numerous discussions questioning the presence of deadly weapons in our schools.

These heinous crimes remind us all that we must remain diligent in protecting our students, administration, and staff.

Analysis of hostile acts in our schools has shown that actively participating in the tactical response to the threat provides the maximum potential for survival. Active participation starts at the classroom door. This conversation will review the basic concepts of safety that can be readily implemented with little to no cost to the district.
