Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based treatment developed to support children and their families who are experiencing psychological distress following a traumatic event(s). TF-CBT is an effective intervention that involves caregivers in the treatment process and successfully resolves a broad range of difficulties associated with trauma exposure.

Target audience: Psychologists, Counselors, Social Workers, & School Mental Health Clinicians. This presentation is designed to enhance clinicians’ familiarity from a basic level of understanding of CBT to an intermediate level of familiarity with Trauma-Focused CBT.

Presenter Information: Peter J. D’Amico, PhD, ABPP, is a Clinical Child and Family Psychologist licensed since 1996. He serves as Director of Child and Adolescent Psychology and the STRYDD Center at Long Island Jewish Medical Center of Northwell Health, where he has supervised multiple milieu based programs, school consultation and grant efforts related to childhood trauma.
