Please join us on April 26th, for our meeting- "Finances and Tax Planning"
Tax and investment professionals have many opportunities to collaborate with each other to help our clients grow and protect their financial assets. What information can be gleaned about our client’s financial affairs from their income tax returns? And based on that information, what income tax planning advice and recommendations can we deliver to our clients that will add real value? With the recent passage of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, what income tax planning and investment strategies are less effective or no longer effective, what strategies can be adjusted under the new income tax law, and what new strategies might we want to consider incorporating into our “tool kit” for our clients?
Ted will address these questions while discussing some of the following topics: saving for retirement while reducing income taxes; helping clients and their investment advisors construct more tax-efficient investment portfolios; maximizing the benefits of itemized deductions under the new tax law; helping philanthropically inclined clients maximize the income tax savings of their charitable giving; using Sections 529 Plans to save for college (and possibly secondary school?) education expenses and avoid income taxes; educating clients about the Massachusetts Estate Tax now that the Federal Estate Tax will apply to fewer than 0.1% of all estates; and considerations when choosing between saving on income and capital gains taxes now or estate taxes later. Please bring your questions and tax planning suggestions to enable all of us to have an educated discussion of how we can collaborate to add the maximum value for our clients.
Registration and cocktails will begin at 5pm, dinner will be at 6pm and our presentation will be held from 7:00-8:45pm.
