PLC Description: Using the “I will learn, but first…” series of posters as a starting point, participants will learn the importance of “play with purpose” as it relates to child development, school readiness skills and as a tool for identifying possible red flags.

PLC Objectives:

  • Participants will review basic ages and stages of child development and how it relates to stages of play development.
  •  Participants will come to see play and play observations as a tool to identify possible “red flags” in a child’s development.
  •  Participants will get information to share with parents about how they can engage in meaningful play experiences with their children at home. 
  • Participants will learn about the importance of taking movement and brain breaks throughout the day
