Walk in our Shoes:Understanding the Latino Experience 

This simulation is open to all members of the Winnebago Presbytery and guests.

This simulation experience is designed to help you understand what it’s like to live as a Latino in our community. It is a simulation, not a game. The object is to focus and sensitize you to the realities faced by area Latinos. In the simulation, you will experience the everyday lives of 26 Latino individuals.

The experience lasts two and half hours. It includes an introduction and video the actual simulation exercise, and a debriefing period in which participants and volunteer staffers share their reactions and experiences.

Who Should Attend? Anyone who wants a greater understanding of Latinos living in our community—especially those who have contact with the local Latino population. Walk in our Shoes is an excellent tool for diversity training, leadership, and staff development.

14 people are needed as volunteers. More information about being a volunteer can be found here. If you would like to volunteer you can indicate your willingness as part of the registration. 

The total number of people who may participate is 52. Pleaes register early to secure your spot. 

There will be lodging available at the Pilgrim Center Friday night for those who plan on attending A Walk In Our Shoes or for those who don't want to make the drive Saturday morning.  The cost for lodging is $60.00/person and includes your room and a breakfast buffet Saturday morning prior to the Presbytery meeting.
