2018 MAKER Series:

Tour of 44 Steel

Cleveland Furniture Maker, Jason Radcliffe of 44 Steel, will host a tour of his workshop inside Berrington Pumps & Systems, and industrial process equipment company in Avon owned by his family.  The industrial beaut of the Rust-Belt, in conjunction with 18th and early 19th century Industrial Revolution era machinery, has influenced the character and craft of Radclifffe's stunning pieces.  The tour will expose the journey that Ohio sourced raw/discarded stainless steel, aluminum and wood takes in order to rransform into iconic repurposed furniture.  Equipped with a ban daw, grinder and gas welder, Radcliffe will demonstrate his methods and philosphy of building that balances both style and durability, and its particular importance in Cleveland's economy.  Through both unfinished and polished furniture pieces, attendees will examine furniture, and its detailing, in various stages of completion.  Radcliffe's pieces have been on exhibit at ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair), Cleveland's F*SHO, ABC in NY.  Radcliffe stared in Spike TV's Series, Framework
