Our May 18th Ethics Workshop is scheduled and ready to go.  James Verser, M. Div., M.S., Ed.S., is again our presenter, assisted this year by Selma Sisco M.A., Ed.S. and they’ve prepared an engaging experiential type workshop for us.  The workshop will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018, at Mercer County Community College, West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor, NJ 08550.  You can register online (and choose to pay by either check or credit card).  5 CEU ethics credits will be awarded to participants.  Please remember that the NJMFT licensing board will only accept ethics credits that specifically address marriage and family therapy.

Resolving Ethical Dilemmas in Your MFT Clinical Practice

Note: If you attended the Ethics workshop last year, you do not need to attend it this year as they are essentially the same. You can choose to repeat the workshop. Please note that the CEUs for the second go-around will count as General CEUs and not Ethics CEUs.

This workshop will be interactive. After reviewing how to locate the NJ Statutes and Regulations and the AAMFT Code of Ethics on the internet, there will be some large group interaction, and then small groups of participants will discuss clinical and professional ethical dilemmas, using guidance from these documents. The small groups will then report to the larger audience, and a general discussion will occur. Bring your laptop computer or other internet capable device that will allow you to access the pertinent documents. You can still attend if you do not have such device. You can register online by going to www.njamft.org and looking for the announcement in the right-hand pane. Or, you can choose you can register by filling out the attached form and returning it, along with your check made out to NJAMFT, to the address on the form.

Also, please submit examples of dilemmas you have faced and/or have worried about facing to:  james.verser@gmail.com; they will be used in the discussions.
