Curriculum 3: Supervisory Training for Homeless Service Providers

Homeless Health Care Los Angeles is excited to announce no cost, regional training opportunities in collaboration with LAHSA that are available throughout Los Angeles County.

Curriculum 3:Supervisory Training for Homeless Service Providers - Cohort D

Course Description: 

This course is designed for staff who currently hold, or are transitioning into, supervisory roles within the homeless services sector. The curriculum will involve some lecture format, but will primarily consist of exercises that encourage trainees to employ evidence-based practices as they oversee staff and coach them on adhering to the core tenets and evidence-based practices emphasized in the Care Coordination and Applied Care Coordination curricula. This course consists of 5 full-day trainings, which are 7 hours each. Participants will receive a Supervisory Training for Homeless Services Certificate upon completion of the 5-day course. 35-hour CEUs are available for this course from BRN, CAADE, CAMFT, CCAPP.


This five day, 35-hour course will instruct the following topics:

Day I - Supervisor as Facilitator: Balancing People & Productivity 

Day II – Philosophies of Care & Leadership 

Day III – Performance Management & Coaching Skills 

Day IV – Managing Work 

Day V – Putting it all Together

Course Measurement:

This course is measured through a pre and post-test, and participant demonstration of group activities and exercises that reinforce the learning objectives of each module.

Completion: 

Participants will receive a Supervisory Training for Homeless Services Certificate upon completion of the 5-day course. 35-hour CEUs are available for this course from BRN, CAADE, CAMFT, CCAPP.


Who should attend: Homeless services staff who have are currently supervisors or transitioning into it.
