Vaccinations for Older Adults

Over 65? Vaccines are especially important for you.

As you get older, your immune system weakens and it can be more difficult to fight off infections.

You're more likely to get diseases like
  •  the flu,
  •  pneumonia,
  •  shingles

 - and to have complications that can lead to long-term illness, hospitalization, and even death.

Over lunch at the College of Physicians, Dr. Heather Clauss will review current vaccine guidelines and recommendations, with a focus on older adults' needs and plenty of time for Q&A.

Dr. Clauss has been on faculty at Temple University since 2008, serving as the Director of Transplant Infectious Diseases and the ID Fellowship Program Director.
