Missionary Discipleship Formation Program

"I am a mission on this earth; that is the reason why I am here in this world."          Pope Francis

The challenges facing our world can be overwhelming. Yet, we cannot stand aside in the face of the many needs. We are called to go forth to embody the love of God!

We the Church are called to embody the love of God in and for a world in need.  Join us for our Live, Lead & Serve with Abundant Joy  Missionary Discipleship Formation Program, a time of encounter, discernment, and formation for living the Gospel within and beyond the walls of your parish, school, or office.

This program provides Catholic ministers and educators the knowledge, skills, and resources to better help their communities go forth as agents of encounter and positive Christian change.

The weekend includes the Basic Program on Saturday and the Intermediate Program on Sunday. Each individual day will use the See-Judge-Act process.

Basic Program: Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 9am to 3:30pm (lunch is included)

Upon completion, the participant will be able to:

  • Identify their lived experience within our shared reality to see how their own story is woven into God’s mission of love (SEE)
  • Discern--through Scripture, Church teaching (particularly Evangelii Gaudium and Catholic Social Teaching) and lived faith experience--a road map for encountering God at the peripheries (JUDGE)
  • Develop skills to enliven their ministries and daily lives as missionary disciples by integrating a global perspective and spirituality (ACT)

Intermediate Program: Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 9am to 3:30pm      (lunch is included)

Building on the experiences and learnings from the Basic Program, the participant will be able to:
  • Better identify and understand their political, social and economic context by mapping their peripheries within the global perspective (SEE)
  • Discern through theological reflection how to navigate the disturbance at the periphery in order to be transformed through authentic encounter (JUDGE)
  • Envision and incorporate new ways to form and accompany communities of missionary disciples to live, lead and serve with abundant joy (ACT)

We recommend that you attend both days but you may register for Saturday only.  Please note that the Saturday sessions must be completed prior to attending the Sunday sessions.

Suggested Donations:

For commuters: A donation of $40.00 Saturday is suggested to cover the cost of lunch and materials.  A donation of $60.00 is suggested to cover the cost of Saturday and Sunday with lunches included.
