Mental Health First Aid 

In observance of Mental Health Month, Aurora Charter Oak presents Mental Health First Aid. Learn how to help a friend, family member, coworker or neighbor in need. Normally offered to the public at $107, this 8-hour course will be free and includes lunch, courtesy of Aetna and Charter Oak.

Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour public education program developed to teach participants how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The course helps participants to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders.

Following the training, participants will receive a certificate from Mental Health First Aid USA.  A limited number of spaces are available, so interested participants are encouraged to reserve their seats as early as possible.

  • Understanding Disorders and Risk Factors of Psychosis
  • Crisis First Aid for Acute Psychosis
  • Substance Use Disorders
  • Crisis First Aid for Withdrawal
  • Crisis First Aid for Overdose

This course is designed for the general public, ages 18 and above.
